Admission Requirements

Formal university degree (i.e. Bachelor's, Diploma) in either engineering, industrial engineering or equivalent.

Additionally, we require proof of proficiency in English (for example IELTS 6.5, a TOEFL score of at least 600 (pbT) / 80 (ibT) or other proof such as through an interview). No test required for students from countries with English as the official language in education.

Important information: Please note your country-specific visa deadlines in order to start studying in Germany. We can only guarantee you a place at the university if you have a valid visa to study in Germany. Please contact the German embassy in your home country for exact deadlines.

Moreover, it will shape your understanding of macroeconomics and develop your intercultural skills.

Master 'International Business & Engineering' with pre-courses (120 CPs)

Graduates of engineering sciences start with a preliminary course in business studies for one-semester. After passing this, they can enter the regular master program

Graduates of business sciences start with a technical preliminary course for one-semester. After passing this, they can enter the regular master program.

Preliminary course business studies:

  • Module 1+2: Business Essentials I

    • Courses: Business Theory & Research, Business Law, Market Analysis, Business Startup, Marketing & Sales, Project I
  • Module 3+4: Business Essentials II

    • Courses: Accounting, Human Resources, Investment & Finance, Mathematics, Business Management, Project II, Language

Preliminary course technical essentials:

  • Module 1+2: Technical Essentials I
    • Mathematics for Engineers I+II, Material Sciences, Mechanics
  • Module 3+4: Technical Essentials II
    • Constructive Design, Electrical Engineering, Production Engineering, Material Sciences II, Language

Our academic year is divided into eight blocks of five weeks each. These blocks build on one another with regard to content. Studies begin with a 14-days introductory module. Targeted learning is offered from day one with a university-wide preparatory phase to acquire basic study skills.

The dual focus on two core competence areas of growing importance and with a myriad of different applications will open a wide range of possible future career options to you. Your flexible professional profile is enhanced by good language skills and by having experience in national and international operating contexts. In an increasingly globalized working world you will be able to evaluate sustainable technical projects in accordance with current business standards.

Successfully completing our master program will also allow you to begin a PhD program.

Please note: The application deadline for students needing a VISA are 15th of January (summer semester) and 15th of July (winter semester).


The profile of our study program is unique in Germany. Its contents are based on the current and future needs of fast growing industries as well as those of the labour market.

The duration of the study program will vary depending on your academic background:

  • Graduates of engineering sciences: 4 semesters (including preliminary course in business studies)
  • Graduates of industrial engineering and management: 3 semester
