SRH Campus Hamm Vibrant and Exciting Campus Life
Studying in Hamm leaves room for far more than learning. The city has many exciting experiences to offer. Our university of Applied Sciences is located in the heart of Hamm, in the new Heinrich-von-Kleist-Forum, right next to the bus and the main train station. Because of Hamm's location near the Ruhr area, it offers a wide range of travel desinations and countless opportunities for freetime activities such as shopping in Essen, watching a soccer game in Dortmund or partying in Cologne.
You will be studying in the city centre, just a few minutes’ walk from shops, restaurants, coffee shops and bars, as well as cinemas and museums. There is also the Maxipark, a beautiful park for walks and enjoying nature, as well as many other cultural and sports offers. A lot of places in Hamm offer special discounts for students, so don’t be afraid to ask about them.
Going Out in Hamm
A Slightly Different Canteen: "Heinrich"
Our university of Applied Sciences has a new and wonderful cooperation with the restaurant & coffee bar "Heinrich", which opened next door in the Heinrich-von-Kleist-Forum early in May 2017. For our students and staff this means a 15 % discount on meals and beverages, putting the restaurant at a price point comparable to a canteen. "The cooperation is great, especially for students. And if the SRH students and staff are happy, so am I", says restaurant chef and proprietor Mehdi Shabani.
Bars and Cafes
"Extrablatt", "Enchilada", "Westend", to name but three of the many cafes, bistros, bars and restaurants in Hamm's inner city and within walking distance of the SRH University of Applied Sciences Hamm. The "mile", where Hamm's nightlife is concentrated, features clubs for every taste, such as the "Pirates" or "Podium". It’s a great place to meet friends and fellow students, to eat, have fun, and dance.
